In 2021, West Fraser reached a remarkable milestone: the planting of its two-billionth seedling in Western Canada. This achievement reflects more than 65 years of dedication to reforestation and sustainable forest management—an ongoing commitment to restoring healthy, resilient forests that support biodiversity, local communities, and future generations.
To honour this achievement, West Fraser’s Vice President, D’Arcy Henderson, and Chief Forester, Jeff Mycock, were presented with two striking dioramic photographs by award-winning photographer and reforestation documentarian Rita Leistner. The images, drawn from her Forest for the Trees collection, capture the spirit and skill of the tree planters whose hard work made this milestone possible.
Brinkman is proud to have stood alongside West Fraser as a long-time reforestation partner. West Fraser’s two-billion-tree legacy is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when vision, commitment, and collaboration take root.
